Take Exit 13 Central Ave. At the end of the ramp go straight onto Linden Blvd. Pass one flashing traffic light, at the next traffic light turn right onto Elmont Road. Continue approximately 1.5 miles to the fork in the road. Bear right onto School Road. Continue straight to Hempstead Turnpike. Turn right; continue east to 700 Hempstead Turnpike. The library will be on the left side of the road.
From Southern State East – exit at Franklin Avenue North
Immediately after exit is a light – make a left on Dutch Broadway.
Make a right on Meachem – take to 24 Hempstead Turnpike –make a left and library is about 1 or 2 blocks down.

Elwood library Directions
The classes for Elwood are not at the library -- they're at either the middle school or high school which are right next door to each other . .
From Northern State or LIE:
Take Sagtikos/Sunken Meadow Parkway north to Pulaski road.
Take Pulaski road to Elwood road. you'll be on Pulaski road several miles -- Elwood is the next big intersection after east Northport - there's a gas station on the southeast corner and a school on the northwest corner
Make a left on Elwood. Take to John Glenn High School/ Middle/Junior High School on the right - make a right into the parking lot.
The high school is on the left. the middle school is towards the back on the right
For classes at the high school, park right our front.
For the middle school, keep going past the middle school. Turn right after the school - there's a door in the back. you can park there.

At library, parking lot is in the back. If there are no parking spots, park partially on the grass to the right of the handicapped spot. Go in by the ramp. There’s a buzzer at the bottom of the ramp for someone to open the door. Once inside, go to the dumb waiter – it’s right inside as you come thru the hallway. The cart doesn’t fit into the elevator so crates have to be put in separately. Conference room is on lower level.

At fork, immediately after Genovese/Hess, bear right (windmill will be to your left).

At light, make left on Bagatelle (after Fire Dept on right)

Look for school on right – library is on left.
From East or West

Parking is terrible at this library – there are only about 6 or 7 spots on the street in front of the library and any other parking is too far away to make it possible with the equipment – so always give yourself time to be able to drive around several time waiting for a spot to become free.

From Northern or Eastern Long Island:
Travel south on the Meadowbrook Parkway to the Loop Parkway Exit M10, just before the Jones Beach toll both exit. Take exit onto the Loop Parkway. At the end, take right ford onto Lido Blvd., traveling west (changes to Park Ave., but it is the same road). Turn right (north) onto Long Beach Road, cross bridge, bear left (west) to Island Park sign. This is Long Beach Road. The library is located on the left side of the street after the first traffic light.
Note: This route avoids most traffic. An alternate route is to take Long Beach Road sought through South Hempstead, Rockville Centre, Oceanside, and Island Park.
From Kennedy Airport Area:
Take the Atlantic Beach Bridge. Veer left off the bridge onto Park Street, which becomes Beech Street in Long Beach. Turn left (north) to cross Long Beach Bridge. Bear left coming off the bridge. This is Long Beach Road. The library is located on the left side of the street after the first traffic light.
